With 21 years of service in the Australian Federal Parliament, and 6 years as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Neil is a remarkable advocate and an effective listener. He brings the gravity of experience to negotiating sensible, commercial resolutions.
Neil has had a lifelong association with primary production and remains actively involved in charity work that addresses concerns of rural Australia. He is well known to the winemakers and fruit growers of the Barossa, Clare Valley and Riverland, and the farmers of Yorke Peninsula. In recognition of his contribution to rural Australia, Neil was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2008 Australia Day Honours.
