Prior to establishing Aventus Legal, Brent was the partner-in-charge of the Adelaide office of a national commercial law firm. Prior to his return to Adelaide, Brent spent many years at the Melbourne and Brisbane offices of Mallesons Stephen Jaques (one of Australia’s largest and most respected commercial law firms), as well as holding positions in the ‘in-house’ legal teams of such companies as Telstra, Sensis and the major wine and spirit company Orlando Wyndham Group (now Pernod Ricard Pacific).
His time at the coal face of business has given him a unique insight into the commercial world and the issues businesses face on a daily basis. This experience has equipped him with the tools to provide practical, and cost effective advice to his clients.
Before becoming a lawyer, Brent was a member of the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF), working in such diverse roles as an Airborne Electronics Analyst flying in P3C Orion Aircraft, and as an Indonesian Linguist employed at the Defence Signals Directorate Canberra. He continues his important role with the RAAF through his current position as a RAAF Specialist Reserve Legal Officer, where he is often called upon to assist in commercial legal matters for high profile Defence units such as the Aerospace Operations Support Group.
