At Aventus, our commercial lawyers want to partner with you to keep you clear of legal issues and add value to your business. We take the time to get to know your business so that any legal advice we provide reflects your business goals.

Unlike the standard revenue model of traditional law firms, we don’t charge for every minute we spend with you and we certainly don’t charge for every phone call or email. Our commercial lawyers encourage interaction so to ensure your business is operating in the most legally compliant and efficient way possible.

Our job is firstly to help avoid legal problems, but if they do occur, our job is to help you out of them. The law is complicated enough – Aventus is here to make dealing with it simple.

Aventus prides itself on being a proactive commercial law firm that focuses on providing preventative legal advice to our clients. While we protect our client’s rights when challenged, the last thing we want is our clients involved in a dispute, or worse, in court.  This approach not saves our clients money and heartache, but empowers them to focus on their businesses secure in the knowledge that their lawyers have their backs.

Innovative

At Aventus we adopt a ‘whole of business’ approach. While we do undertake individual matters on occasion, we find that doing so in the absence of a broader understanding of our client’s business and business objectives can sometimes lead to a compromised outcome.

We also like to operate on a ‘by project’ basis where we provide fixed fee quotes for specified outcomes. This works best both for us and for your business as it provides a transparent and defined scope of works, and eliminates the risk of an alarming cost blowout and the dreaded bill shock.

Practical

No one wants to waste valuable time that could be better utilised on more important tasks. At Aventus, we will always provide you with practical and easy to implement advice, rather than pages of legal jargon.

Often it only takes a simple phone call or email to us to answer your question on the spot. If it is a legal issue, we will provide you with the advice you require (often, on the spot). Similarly, if it doesn’t require any legal advice, we will tell you that too! This is just another way in which we deliver genuine value for our clients, while sparing them the pain of navigating the legal maze alone.

The biggest frustration for businesses wishing to engage a lawyer has been the fear of the dreaded six-minute unit, and the potential for uncontrollable cost blowouts.

Affordable

At Aventus, we take the approach that prevention is better than a cure. We encourage our clients to interact with us regularly to update us with developments in their business, or to simply ask that niggling question that has been at the back of their minds. For this kind of interaction, we simply do not charge. When a matter does require further work, we will tell you whether or not a fee will be involved, and exactly what that fee will be. Honesty and full transparency are our promise to you.

We also offer our franchisor clients a unique fee arrangement where they rarely have to pay any legal fees for most routine matters. We find it’s the most efficient way to service our franchise clients’ legal needs and it’s why our franchisors choose to stay with Aventus for the long haul.
